A Very Special Love
July 22, 2008
I was watching some TV Drama late night when I got to see the trailer of this move called A Very Special Love. It was a light drama with a touch of love story and some comedy on it. The artist were Sarah Geromino and John Lloyd Cruz. Both were good looking and they look good with each other. Sarah here has played a very different role to those she has already portrayed and so does John.
I find the trailer very interesting and I find it so nice. THough it was a light movie I’m sure that there’s a lot of Filipino who are waiting to see this entire movie and this will be a big hit. I was one of those waiting for this and I was excited to see this on JUly 31 in theaters. I know that I’ll have a very wide smile on my face after seeing this movie.
The Most Awaited “Dark Knight”
July 13, 2008
Another movie of Batman is most awaited in the big screen.Posters at cinema’s entrance labeled it as coming soon. And if you drop by, you just thrilled and got curious.
But watching its trailer is different. The character’s moves and stuns were incredible. The costume is fantastic. On how Batman wears it, makes the character realistic without flaws. The lighting is dramatic as it projects the scene with such moods. The background music is suitable for the trailer. As it gives excitement to the viewer.
When is this be available in cinemas? The most awaited, July 17 in all movie houses.
I think this is different with the previous Batman movies. First, is the title itself. It’s really catchy and you’ll know that it’s an action movie. Based on the trailer, you will not confused the movie with something else. The logo itself reveals that it’s a Batman movie plus the famous enemy of Batman, Joker. And also the traditional Bat mobile runs in the city is unforgettable. It’s just the title gives the thrill.
I’m pretty excited to let that day come.I heard that there are people whom already reserved seats for that upcoming movie.Maybe I should have one to avoid long lines in the ticket booth. This is another blockbuster movie hit.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (PG-13, 2008)
June 1, 2008
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (PG-13: 2008)
Director: Steven Spielberg. Starring: Harrison Ford … Indiana Jones, Cate Blanchett … Irina Spalko, Karen Allen … Marion Ravenwood,
Shia LaBeouf … Mutt Williams, Ray Winstone … ‘Mac’ George McHale, John Hurt … Professor ‘Ox’ Oxley, Jim Broadbent … Dean Charles Stanforth, Igor Jijikine … Dovchenko, and many more.
Hmmm … where would one begin? I was totally dissatisfied with this film, and I am a big Indiana Jones fan. It was flaky, stupid, and literally had a dumb plot. The plot: Famed archaeologist/adventurer Dr. Henry “Indiana” Jones is called back into action when he becomes entangled in a Soviet plot to uncover the secret behind mysterious artifacts known as the Crystal Skulls. The mere fact that “crystal skulls” historically are most likely fakes, should give you a hint. As follows the rest of the alien plot. The acting was also very so-so. Sorry Harrison, but you need to re-think this role. Certainly none of the Indiana Jones films have an ounce of reality, but this one was extremely far-fetched and the Aliens from Roswell crystal skull and skeletons having magnetic powers was just idiotic. Most of the film was parody and nostalgic in-jokes. It had a few laughing moments, but overall, i just felt like leaving and demanding a refund. Don’t waste your money, not even at the video store. Rating: 1 star out of 5. Don’t see. Viewed 5/23/08.
“The Strangers” (2008)
May 24, 2008
This looks like a movie you don’t want to see alone. The sounds on the trailer are enough to make you believe it will send chills down your spine.
“The Strangers” stars Liv Tyler as Kristen McKay and Scott Speedman as James Hoyt. They want to relax at a remote suburban house. Relaxation isn’t what they get. To their horror, they are trapped in this house and surrounded by a gang of psychos who are trying to torture and kill them. They question if they have what it takes to survive.
“The Strangers” opens in theaters May 30th and is rated R for violence, terror and language. The movie is inspired by true events, which makes it all the more chilling.
“We Are Marshall”
May 18, 2008
What do you do with the football program of a University when a horrible tragedy takes the life of its members and coach?
November 1970 marked a time when a town suffered a horrible tragedy, one that left the community in sorrow and disbelief for a long time. “We Are Marshall” is based on this sad and true-life event, taking place in the town of Huntington, West Virginia and the uprising afterward. Being a native of West Virginia, this movie held even more meaning to me.
A plane crash claimed the lives of more than 70 people, including football team members, coaches, faculty and community members. The tragedy wasn’t limited to the university, but spread wide across the community and state. “We Are Marshall” depicts the impact very well, without the typical Hollywood drama.
A small percentage of the movie deals with the actual plane crash and then segues into the aftermath. Matthew Fox plays the character Red Dawson. He feels guilty because he stayed behind. He has a difficult time unraveling his feelings.
Nate Ruffin is a teammate who had to stay behind because of illness, but rallied to create another team to play in the 1971 season. He had no idea where to start and neither did anyone else.
Matthew McConaughey plays Jack Lengyl, who is enlisted to rebuild Marshall’s football team. He dresses odd. He’s a bit left of center and seems the last person who could help a football team and community rise after such a tragedy. But, he has a lot of wisdom and insight that helps bring the team and many others together.
There are other characters in this movie who add to the impact of the loss and the uprising. The acting is superb and the movie is about much more than football, but human life and how we can rise above tragedy. Whether you are from West Virginia or a world apart, this movie will tug at your heart and linger for a long time.

Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay
April 22, 2008
Harold and Kumar’s last adventure was on a long journey to White Castle to get hamburgers after getting the munchies when smoking pot. It was an adventure, to say the least.
The two remain the crazy stoners in “Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay” as they get into trouble trying to sneak a bong on a flight to Amsterdam. They are suspected of terrorism and flee from officials, in hopes of figuring out a way to prove they are innocent.
John Cho stars as Harold and Kal Penn as Kumar. The movie is rated R for strong crude and sexual content, graphic nudity, pervasive language and drug use.
From the trailer I’m not so sure this move will be as good as its predecessor.
