Meinhardt Raabe- The Wizard of Oz

Meinhardt Raabe was born, September 2, 1915 and passed away on April 9, 2010, due to a heart attack at the age of 94.

Meinhardt Raabe was one of the last surviving munchkin actors from the film “The Wizard of Oz”. In this film, he played the corner character who confirmed the wicked witch was dead.

Meinhardt Raabe also had the opportunity to work as a spokesman for Oscar Mayer in which he was known as – Little Oscar, the World’s Smallest Chef.

Meinhardt Raabe, and the surviving other munchkins, still kept the memory of “The Wizard of Oz” alive in fans’ hearts by attending conventions and celebrations around the world.

As a fan of the movie, “The Wizard of Oz”, I must say that this movie is one that I will always remember and share with my children in generations to come.

“The Wizard of Oz” was released August 25, 1939 and directed by Victor Fleming.
