Rihanna and Frankie Delgado Together?

March 27, 2009

What has happened to Rihanna? Is she just out looking for some hot attention? Surely she could do better than Frankie Delgado. Come on now Rihanna!

Rihanna has been through a lot and has much to deal with. Things haven’t been a piece of cake or American apple pie for Rihanna. Overall, Rihanna has done pretty well with dealing with things that have been dealt to her.

According to a witness, “She was snuggling with him on her couch and the two were all about each other. Rihanna gave Frankie a lap type dance when Destiny’s Child’s song ‘Bug-A-Boo’ started playing…he kept pulling at Rihanna’s white dress and she giggled, playfully pushing him away and then hugging him!”

This really is a bit much for Rihanna. She can have anyone she likes. But first, let’s settle down and just get through the moment. There isn’t this need for allt hat attention. Is there?

Night at the Museum Movie Review

March 25, 2009

In Night at the Museum, Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is out of work, recently unmarried, and a sad excuse for a father. He finally gets a job as a night security guard in the Museum of Natural History. Just when he thinks all is well and the job will be a breeze; Larry (Stiller) finds himself confronting, rather timidly, a T-rex skeleton that acts like a puppy, tiny armies from ancient cultures, cowboys and a roguish monkey whose lot in life is to harass Larry. All of this is because of a curse that brings the Night at the Museum to life when the sun goes down.

Just when all could be lost, President Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams), helps Larry (Stiller) figure out a way to control the chaos and become a hero in his son’s eyes. All of the chaos and mayhem is peaked when previous night watchmen ( Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, and Bill Cobbs) steal the artifact that will save or lose the day.

Night at the Museum is a culmination of cultures and eras that come together for a fun filled, action packed, save the day type of movie. Stiller and Williams truly deliver and hold true to their style.

50 First Dates Movie Review

March 25, 2009

Henry Roth (Adam Sandler in 50 First Dates) has the pleasure of living in a tropical paradise. He is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and a sea of beautiful women that are his for the choosing. One fateful day, Roth (Sandler) meets Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore). There is an instant connection that neither Henry (Sandler) nor Lucy (Barrymore) can deny in the movie 50 First Dates. They realize that there is the possibility of a more serious relationship.
The fun begins when Henry (Sandler) is confused about Lucy (Barrymore) not recognizing him the next day. This is the when Henry makes the discovery that Lucy suffers short term memory loss and cannot remember previous days. Henry vows to not let their time together be wasted and makes it his goal to make Lucy fall in love with him, again and again, each and every day.
This movie, 50 First Dates, is full of humor, tenderness, and the wonder of love. It is a great date movie whether you are married or not. 50 First Dates show the wonderment of love and that anything worth having is worth fighting for, even if it is day after day after day…. 50 First Dates is a must see for anyone that wants a feel good movie.

Bolt

March 24, 2009

Bolt (John Travolta) is a dog that has his own television show. The problem with this is that Bolt (Travolta) does not know it is only a show. The plot for the show is that Bolt’s responsibility is to defend who he calls “his person” Penny (Miley Cyrus).
At one point Bolt is separated from the show. His reality is not at all what he thought it was and he begins a journey of self-discovery on his way from New York to California. To make the journey more interesting Bolt (Travolta) takes captive a stray cat named Mittens (Susie Essman). On the trip across the nation, Bolt is required to tackle a reality that is not conducive to his “powers”. The third in the trio is introduced when Bolt takes as his friend a passionate devotee in Rhino the hamster (Mark Walton). The unlikely threesome head back to California with Mittens educating Bolt in the realities of life. A must see for adult and children alike.

A Shark’s Tale

March 24, 2009

In this “fishy” animation, A Shark’s Tale, Will Smith adds his trademark wit to the adult humored cartoon. Oscar (Smith) has a dream to become “somebody” and make it to the top of the reef but he has a gambling problem. Renee Zellweger plays the voice of Oscar’s overlooked best friend, Angie. The sweet and charming voice of Zellweger adds a truly loving personality to the animated Angie.
When the gambling gets out of control and the money that is owed to the mafia boss Don Lino (Robert DeNiro) is lost on a bad bet, the adventure of Oscar’s life begins. He learns about true friendship, true love, and dependable escape routes. Most of all, he learns that you do not have to hit bottom to make it to the top. A Shark’s Tale is a must see for the whole family.

A Shark’s Tale is a must see for the whole family. My entire family really enjoyed this movie a great deal. It is definitely something that would be fun to watch with the family during the summer school holiday when you’re not on vacation.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

March 9, 2009

This wonderful family classic The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian starts with a feeling a dread and boredom. The children, once adult kings and queens of Narnia, find themselves having to live the lives of children in post-WW2. The opening scene shows how the wisdom that was gleaned as adults has slipped away and reduced to pubescent brawling.
As fate would have it, the siblings are once again transported to Narnia, only it is not the Narnia they remember. The animals are now hostile, an uprising in on the horizon, and Peter, Edmund, and Susan still do not listen to infallible insight of the youngest, Lucy.
During the adventures, pride becomes infectious, hope is deferred, anger prevails, yet love finds a way through it all. The directors and writers have the ability to engage the viewer and soon he/she finds him/herself on an emotional roller coaster. When the credits roll and the popcorn bags are empty, the viewer is left with the overall sensation that all will be well with the world and love will find a way.

In the Electric Mist Movie Review

March 7, 2009

Tommy Lee Jones portrays a detective that is thrown into a series of strange events. He tries to discover who killed a man some 40 years earlier that he was witness too. A serial killer was killing young ladies in the area and other areas close by. Were the two connected? What was happening?

Tommy Lee Jones did a great job at trying to piece everything together in this movie. He even had strange encounters with the spirit of a Confederate soldier!

I found this movie to be a little slow at the beginning. However, it got better as it progressed. There were points that I was a bit confused because the plot was rather complicated.

Could I figure out who was committing the serial killings? No. I was completely surprised when this part of the movie was revealed.

The run time on this movie is 112 minutes. You will enjoy it tremendously.

American Idol Season 8 Gives a Surprise

March 7, 2009

American Idol Season 8 is well under way. The first three groups have all performed on American Idol. There has even been wild card selection night on American Idol. The Wild Card contestants sang on the American Idol show. Then the judges selected the final contestants for American Idol to do the rest of the American Idol shows for Season 8.

This year, it was difficult for the judges to select the wild cards. Unlike any other season of American Idol, the judges made a surprising announcement on Wild Card night. Instead of having a top 12 on American Idol, there is now going to be a top 13. Anoop Desai was the 13th wild card selected for the top 13 on American Idol season 8. This is the first time ever in 8 seasons of running that the show has had more than a top 12 for the contestants.

Anoop Desai is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Many of us sat on the edges of our seats thinking that Anoop Desai had been cut from American Idol during wild card night. At the very end, Simon made a surprising announcement. Anoop Desai was going to be part of American Idol season 8 and there would be a top 13. It will be interesting how the show unfolds.
