Veronika..

October 29, 2008

I am just so glad to know that one of my favorite novel from Paulo Coehlo, “Veronika Decides to Die” would be on the big screen next year!

“Veronika” will be played by Sarah Michelle Gellar.

I just hope that “The Alchemist” will be made into movie too.

Desperate Housewives

October 29, 2008

That creepy white haired guy is frightening me! From the very first time I saw his light blue eyes and the show made it seem as though he was going to kill that old man, I was scared. What’s his problem? Ok so he has an anger management problem as he moved back to Wysteria Lane to get revenge on someone. A man. But who?

I didn’t watch DHw back when it first started but kind of knew the beginning. I was thinking that maybe he was going to get revenge on Brie’s son who killed someone. But then I found out it was actually Carlos’ mother. And that’s another thing. I just found out Brie’s son killed Carlos’ mother?! WTH? And no one ever told Gabby? They would be so furious at Brie’s family for hiding that.

Anyway, the show’s at great as always and can’t wait to see the rest of the season :)

Star Trek Generations still my favorite ‘Trek movie

October 27, 2008

Even after watching the many Star Trek movies over and over again, I still love Star Trek Generations (1994). This movie blends the two eras of Star Trek together seamlessly. My favorite part of the movie is when Kirk and Picard come together to battle the movie’s nemesis: Dr Soran. You get to see each Captains style contrasted to each other. They have to work together and it is awesome for any serious fan of the series to witness. Of course, this battle climaxes with Kirk’s death. Some have called this scene disappointing and a let-down, but I disagree. Kirk and Picard valiantly fight to the end and do not hesitate to cooperate. Shatner gives a memorable speech about being given the opportunity to make a difference. It fulfilled one of his final wishes and makes people think about his stance as a commander. Some of his final words will always be with me: “it’s the least I could do…for the captain of the Enterprise”

Disney Channel

October 27, 2008

I’m 26 and watch the Disney Channel. Why? It’s entertaining, that’s why! So when the kids talk about Hanna Montanna and Phinneas and Ferb (sp?) I know what they’re referring to. Is that crazy? Maybe, but I don’t care. I’m a well rounded individual who likes a variety of things. I’m open minded! So maybe one night I’ll watch FX, another night, Disney Channel, and another day the WB, or CW I think it’s called now.

I’m multi-dimensional and wouldn’t want to only watch one thing for the rest of my life. On the plus side, my baby LOVES dancing to the songs on Disney Channel so it works out for both of us.

Passions

October 25, 2008

I miss my Passions. When, oh when, will a tv channel air past episodes for us Passions fanatics? Turns out Jer died recently. He was the one to blame anyway. Makes me think what would have happened if the last episode of Passions turned out to be now. Would someone have stepped in and said “Hey, this is a really stupid mistake letting Passions go!” Even the characters were saddenned.

Sure I can watch “Luis” and “Ethan” and I think even “Rebecca” on Days of Our Lives but its not the same at all. Where is my Ethan and Theresa? I saw them together for like a 1/2 hr in the last episode and they left us all dry and sad and crying our eyes out. WTH?

I miss Passions :( I cried when they showed the whole cast with the balloons with Timmy’s voice singing. I’m so sad now.

Addams Family Values

October 25, 2008

This was on TV, I think on the ABC Family channel. We TiVo’d it to watch with the kids later. Well, I must have not remembered anything about it from when I was a kid. Boy, those kids do some really evil things! I was shocked to see they were trying to behead a baby. Pretty sick, actually.

I was contemplating whether or not to turn off the show and put on something else. We got through the attempted gruesome murders and finally watched the rest which wasn’t AS bad. Honestly, I don’t even think that movie could keep the children’s interest. I’m not even sure we finished it, it wasn’t really worth it.

I don’t think I’ll be watching this again.

Prison Break

October 24, 2008

I like the wit on how Michael Scofield derived a strategy for their mission. The way he plan things out is amazing. Like the first season of Prison Break, Michael had himself tattooed which serves as the blue print of the prison they are in. He wants to save his brother Lincoln and break from this prison. Everything and every moves are his strategy to come up for the day they will escape. Each execution have time frame. If they will miss it, the plan will fail. He recuit other prisoners as his allies that will help him to execute his plan.

I like the fast facing of the story. It always surprises me. At the end of the season 1, they escape from the prison cell. I recommend this series to watch for. It’s better to watch the very beginning.

Heroes

October 24, 2008

When the first time I’ve watch the first episode of this series, I can say that I love it. I love the storyline, the characters and the graphics. Each characters have their own special abilities like flying, absorbing other powers, healing and painting the future. They are not ordinary people because of their abilities. Some characters used it to save the world while others cause a destruction. The actors and actresses done a great job in portraying their own part.

The graphic and special effects were done pefectly as it seems to be true. The facing of the story is fast. There are lots of discoveries and unexpected happenings. I like the way their story flows. Heroes is a good TV series of this time.

Redbox

October 23, 2008

I wanted to let you know about Redbox. Many of you might not know what Redbox is. Well, it’s a machine, that’s red, put into stores like Wal-mart and grocery stores around the nation. They rent out DVD’s and video games for a mere $1/night. What a concept. Sometimes the line will be so long at Redbox of people renting or waiting to return.

They have all the new releases for rent, as well as older titles. Some, or many actually, of the older movies you can purchase for about $7. They are used. If you happen to forget to ever take your DVD back, don’t worry, you are only charged up to 21 days (at the $1/night rate) then it is yours to keep. Pretty good for those forgetful brains out there.

I also wanted to let cell phone users, who have text to sign up on http://www.redbox.com for promo texts. Why? Because they’ll send you a code every Monday (and some Wednesdays) for a free movie. All summer, every Monday and Wednesday I was there at Redbox renting a new movie (or two) and returning it the next day. The returning it part is the sucky part because you don’t REALLY want to drive back to the store to do it. But it must be done and its worth it for such low prices!
