A Walk to Remember

“Our love is like the wind…I can’t see it but I can feel it”
I have seen A Walk to Remember for a couple of times now. And it never fails to make me in tears each time I watch it. It has a certain feeling to it, a magic of some sort, which altogether makes me fall in love and fall apart.
A Walk to Remember, based on Nicholas Sparks’ novel of the same title, is about Landon Carter, a popular student with no plans for the future. He together with his group pulled a prank on a student which went offensively wrong. Landon was held responsible and as a consequence of the group’s misdemeanor, he was forced to participate in after-school community services activities which include starring as the lead in the school play. The school play is also being participated by Jamie Sullivan, the reverend’s daughter who has striking ambitions. Landon and Jamie have no things in common but when Landon decided to take the activities seriously, he asked Jamie for help. Soon, Landon and Jamie are spending time together and developed feelings for each other, much to the dismay of Landon’s friends and Jamie’s reverend father. But when Jamie and his father’s secret was revealed, Landon and Jamie’s relationship was put to a test and this test made the couple realize what true love really means.
I am a hopeless romantic and I love watching drama and romance movies. And I fell in love with this movie after the first time I saw it. It has brought a lot of emotions in me – love, pain, hope. The storyline though has differences to the novel was successful in showing the development of the lead character’s emotions.
Mandy Moore and Shane West, who played Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter respectively, have an undeniable chemistry on screen and both were fitted to the roles.
Overall, I can say that this movie is a must-see. Also, the soundtrack is a good hear.
