The Last Airbender

I so love Aang. If you are unfamiliar with the character, he’s the last Avatar from the Nickelodeon cartoon series, The Last Airbender. I used to just catch snippets when it is shown in Nick but when I got the chance to watch all of the episodes online, I got hooked.

As I was browsing upcoming movies, I read that M. Night Shyamalan will be directing a movie version of the series. I was ecstatic! It is a planned trilogy patterned on the series. It’s interesting of course that this is a live movie and not 3D. I can’t wait to see how they bring all of the characters to life. I just hope that the director will be able to inject humor as well because that’s how it’s done in the cartoons.

The movie is scheduled for July 2, 2010. It’s a long, long way to go and yet I am bursting with excitement. This is one movie that I surely won’t miss. But for now, I will have to content myself in watching the cartoon series.
