Shirley Temple - America’s Sweetheart Collection, Vol. 1

For those who loved the classic Shirley Temple movies, they are available on DVD. I purchased this particular collection and love it.

Volume 1 includes the movies, “Heidi”, “Curly Top” and “Little Miss Broadway”. “Heidi” is my favorite and about an orphan named Heidi who lives with her cruel aunt. The aunt decides that Heidi is too much for her to take care of and drops her off at her grandfather’s house.

Heidi’s grandfather is a grumpy outcast and having a young child live with him is the last thing he wanted. Heidi adapts and grows to love her grandfather, as he eventually grows to love her as well. Unfortunately, Heidi’s aunt comes back to kidnap her and takes her to a wealthy man’s home to be a companion for his seemingly disabled daughter, Klara. Heidi works miracles with Klara and the two become best of friends. Still, Heidi is missing her grandfather immensely. Her grandfather will do anything to get Heidi back.

This collection has an added perk. You have the option of viewing in color or black and white. Either way, the collection is great family entertainment from days gone by.
