Premonition

What would you do if you came home and found a message on the answering machine from your husband, who was away on a business trip? Now, what if minutes after you listened to the message, the police came to your door and told you that your husband had died the day before in a car accident? Wait, the craziness doesn’t end there. Imagine going to bed the night you found out of your husband’s death and when you wake up in the morning, he was alive!

This is exactly what happens to Linda Hanson, who is played by Sandra Bullock. Linda and her husband Jim have gradually grown apart. Unknown to Linda, Jim plans on cheating on her with a co-worker while a business trip. Linda, while switching back and forth from one day and one reality to another, maps out exactly when the accident will happen. Linda knows she might not be able to keep him alive and wants things to be different between them. She tells him she’s sorry for giving up on them and that she loves him. They make love that night and are happy again. The next morning is his business trip. He tells his co-worker that it can’t happen between them, that he loves his wife and girls. Linda wakes up and finds him gone already. She tracks him down and tries to save his life but he still dies in a car accident, except this time, things were right between them when he died.

In the last scene, Linda and her daughters are getting ready to move and she is fixing to have a baby.
