One Missed Call Movie Review

“One Missed Call” is about a possession through a cell phone. Without giving away the ending, there are several people that get a phone call on their cell phone. The phone call is missed and dated in the future. For example, one person gets a missed call that is time stamped two days into the future.

When the characters listen to the phone call messages, it is time stamped into the future. The call is made from that character saying something. At the time of the future phone call, the character dies.

All of the characters have a hard, red candy in their mouths at the time of death. The lead detective handling the case believes that the deaths are linked to his sister’s freak accidental death.

“One Missed Call” does not allow any time to get to know the characters and relate to them. You are left with the feeling of “so what” when they start dropping dead like flies. The detective doesn’t receive a call to die. It is really hard to connect with the characters at all.

After the first two deaths, the movie could’ve moved onto the final wrap up. There was really no suspense. There was very little gore. The movie was extremely predictable.

One Missed Call gets all thumbs down from me. Save your money and skip it.
