The Hottie and the Nottie
May 31, 2008
It was an OK movie. didn’t expect to like it. But surprisingly I did. Paris Hilton did a great acting job. Not like in her previous movies. But I don’t recommend this to hard core movie fans. Not worth seeing in the movies. Maybe just buy the dvd or borrow from a friend.
Romeo+Juliet
May 31, 2008
This is a modern take on Romeo and Juliet. Well not so modern anymore cause this was in 1996. And besides they only claim it to be modern but when you watch it you’ll still have the medieval feel cause they used the original script (with all the thee’s and thou’s).
But I do love this movie. I even watched it everyday for 3 months back when I was in gradeschool. 1996 was the time that everyone had a crush on Leonardo de Caprio then came Titanic which made us love him even more. As for Claire Danes - no comment.

“‘Find the one you love and live each day as if it was your last.”‘
A womanizing British playboy in New York City finds that there are serious consequences to his carefree lifestyle.
I love this movie, but the critics in yahoo hated it. I loved it cause u can learn a lot. Specially if you’re the play boy type. My guy friends loved it only cause Sienna Miller was HOT.
I also love how the character talks directly to the audience/viewers.

Battle Royale
May 31, 2008
42 Students, Three Days, One Survivor, No Rules.
Eventhough this is a super morbid Japanese film, I really loved it.
The students of the “picked” class were sent to an island to murder each other so there will only be one survivor. They were even given weapons, different kinds for each one (knives, guns, and some nonsense items). If after 3 days more than one are still alive then they’ll all be dead.
I suggest you watch it you’re into movies with lots of blood.
Not so much a fan of Battle Royale 2 though.
Garden State
May 31, 2008
I just recently watched this movie. I’ve been wanting to watch this for a long time now but had a hard time looking for it.
I am (or should I say was) a fan of Zach Braff. He directed and produced this movie way back in 2004. I got to know Zach Braff through Scrubs. His movie The last Kiss was a so-so movie with a great soundtrack.
With Garden State, It also has a great soundtack but with a great storyline to match as well!
I give it 5/5. Glad I found a copy
Vacancy
May 29, 2008
Vacancy is a movie about a married couple who have car trouble and stop at an isolated garage and motel. It’s late and seeing as how their car isn’t going anywhere anyways, they decide to stop at the motel for the rest of the night. When they first arrive in their room, someone starts beating and banging on the door that seperates their room from the next one. That sets the tone for the movie.
After the banging ceases, Amy and David try to settle in for the night. Both are tense and David goes through a stack of videos on the television. Right off the bat they are both disturbed by the videos, which show people getting beat and killed, in a room that looks just like theirs! It was their room and after a careful look around the room, David finds several cameras hid in vents and under tables. The two of them know they are in danger now and try to flee but are forced back into their room by two masked men. They barracade the door and look for a way out, which they find in the form of a trap door in front of the shower, or so they think. Actually, what they found was a tunnel system used by the killers to get from one room to another.
After returning back to their room, David comes up with a plan. He sends Amy up into the ceiling, breaks the bathroom window and makes it look like she escaped through there. The men force the way into the room minutes after Amy hides and they attack David and badly wound him with a knife. Amy waits until morning(she fell asleep for a little bit) and then when she doesn’t see anyone in the room, comes down from ceiling and runs. She finds a car behind the motel but one of the killers climbes on the roof and she wreaks the car into another room, where she crushes the other killer between the wall and car. Both are now dead now but here comes the manager! After killing him and almost getting killed herself, she is able to call 9-1-1 for help for David who is barely alive.
“Autumn in New York”
May 25, 2008
I’m not a huge drama / romance person because of the predictable and cheesy endings. Typically, it doesn’t work for me. But, “Autumn in New York” is definitely something a little bit different and refreshing. And, for a romance, it works particularly well.
This is an older movie, staring Richard Greer and Winona Rider. It starts with Richard Greer (Will) who is a New York ‘playboy.’ While he is heading on 50, he is known throughout New York as a womanizer. This is one that he gains his reputation by through his fame in magazines such as “Time” which caused his rise through his well known restaurant. His success, money and love for the women doesn’t stop from his change in fate when he meets Winona Rider (Charlotte), a young woman who he quickly falls in love with. The only problem is that she is dying from a heart tumor.
The movie goes on to be a great love story between the two, with continuous tension with wondering if Charlotte will live to the next day or not. In the end, it turns into a fantastic love story, and definitely moving. It’s something I would recommend for anyone to watch.
Not only is the twist in the plot something that is really great, but the acting and the approach towards the entire plot works flawlessly. Everything ties together in a way that is unexpected and expected at the same time. This is definitely a movie that is touching, fun and a high class.
“Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”
May 24, 2008
Seriously, if you have seen one of these, you have seen them all. Sorry to all of you who love Indiana Jones, but they have gone far enough with the re-makes of the same story over and over again.
Despite Harrison Ford being a great actor, and the action being, as usual, really good, this movie has been released with so many titles so many different times that I really think it has just turned into a formulated movie. They probably just overdubbed the places where the words are in order to get it flowing the right way.
The plot goes like this… the world is about to be blown up (again), by nuclear annihiiation. Indiana Jone’s realizes hat the only way to make sure that this doesn’t happen is to save an object that is in the tropics. This will cause everything with the nuclear quest to simply end. So, the adventure starts. Jones has to find the object, people are trying to block him and others are trying to help him.
So, even though we have moved to the tropics, and there is an update with how Indiana is going to save the world, everything else is the same. From the movie cover to the way that things play out is just another action film that is doing the same thing as the others. Of course, if you want some enjoyable adventure, it might work for you.
All I can say is… thanks Hollywood.. for another enlightening and inspirational movie to change all of our lives.
“The Strangers” (2008)
May 24, 2008
This looks like a movie you don’t want to see alone. The sounds on the trailer are enough to make you believe it will send chills down your spine.
“The Strangers” stars Liv Tyler as Kristen McKay and Scott Speedman as James Hoyt. They want to relax at a remote suburban house. Relaxation isn’t what they get. To their horror, they are trapped in this house and surrounded by a gang of psychos who are trying to torture and kill them. They question if they have what it takes to survive.
“The Strangers” opens in theaters May 30th and is rated R for violence, terror and language. The movie is inspired by true events, which makes it all the more chilling.
Speed Racer
May 23, 2008
This is the first movie in a very long time that made me jump for joy and watch it more than once. I’m very passionate about this movie, you could ask any of my friends, they’re sick of hearing me talk about it. lol. everyone should see this movie at least once. Don’t download it, go watch it, then buy it when it comes out. The characters were beautiful, the cars were magnificent, the plot had me in tears at times, both sad and joy. if you watch this and don’t like it you’re not a real race fan and should be banned from driving a car.
