Fool’s Gold

For Dirt Pitt (Sahara) fans, Fool’s Gold may be the closest thing to a sequel we will ever see. Fool’s Gold stars Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson as Benjamin and Tess Finnegan, a divorcing married couple treasure hunters. A new clue into the whereabouts of a lost treasure and a series of unusual circumstances brings the couple back together.

McConaughey and Hudson have chemistry as seen in the movie ‘How to lose a guy in 10 days.’ But can they rekindle that to make this movie worth watching?

Fans of Sahara will enjoy seeing McConaughey in this treasure hunter roll. McConaughey’s character is not as smart as Dirt Pitt and really needs his female counterpart. Those looking for a romantic comedy might be disappointed since there is some romance but not that much.

The action is OK, the story a little slow. I was hoping for more but thought the movie was enjoyable. It might not be one you remember six months from now or recommend to your friends. But if you immerse yourself in disbelief and just set out to enjoy an action-adventure, then Fool’s Gold should make for an enjoyable evening.
