I Think I Love My Wife
October 15, 2007
Chris Rock portrays a husband and father in this movie that really is out of the norm of characters he usually plays. Rock does a great job of playing a husband who is frankly bored with his life and not really sure what to do about it.
There is temptation for the family guy when an old friend drops by his office for a reference. Rock’s budding friendship with this woman is dangerous territory. Ultimately he has to decide what kind of life it is he really wants and commit to it. Rock’s character does a lot of commentating that lets the audience in on what he is thinking. Seeing Chris Rock play a family man is a different role for him but one that he pulls out quite well.
I think I love my wife is by no means a substitution for marriage counseling but it a movie that married couples can definitely relate to and possibly walk away with some good advice. The language in I think I love my wife might be a little crass at times but overall it’s still a good movie to rent sometime.
