Haunted Highway (a.k.a. Death Ride) (2006: Rated PG-13)
http://www.deathridemovie.com/
Starring: Rand Gamble …. Greg Ross; Hinano Yoshikawa …. Yumi; Laura Putney …. Amanda Ross; Adrian Roberts …. Police Officer; Adrian N. Roberts …. Police Man; Charles Emmett …. Security Guard; and many more.
Filmed entirely in California as a very low-budget thriller - the story is about a cheating husband who gets busted by his wife only through struggling with her find her quickly dead in a pool of blood on his girlfriend’s floor. In order to hide the accident, he throws his wife into a trunk and sets sail across a barren mountain highway to where they were married in order to dump the body - sleep fatique or deprivation causing hallucinations? he keeps seeing the ghastly ghostly image of his wife (who is dead in his trunk) along the highway, as well as his girlfriend who seems to know what he did, but does she really? In deep suspicion he kills her to. Really stupid. Don’t waste your $$ on this one. It can rot in the dumpster. A Japanese/Hollywood joint venture that definitely died in its own regard, no matter how many different names they try to sell it under. Rating: 1 stars out of 5. Viewed 8/25/06.

Snakes on a Train (R: 2006)

  Snakes on a Train (2006: Rated R)
http://www.theasylum.cc/cgi-bin/showMovie.cgi?id=120
Starring: ALBY CASTRO, JULIA “RYANNE” RUIZ, GIOVANNI BEJARANO, AL GALVEZ and many more.
(as was expected in lieu of their release at the same time as “Snakes on a Plane”) A horrible, typical B-rate (or C-Rate) film about a young couple running from Mexico as illegal immigrants in search of their medicine doctor uncle in L.A. to save the young woman’s life who was cursed by breaking a pre-arranged marriage causing her to vomit snakes. A deadly Mayan curse causing snakes to hatch within the young woman slowly devouring her from within; they hijack a train and the snakes she vomits up take over the train to gigantic proportions and devouring the passengers. Really bad movie. Rating: 1 stars out of 5. Viewed 8/25/06.

Snakes on a Plane (R: 2006)

August 21, 2006

  Snakes on a Plane (2006: Rated R)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0417148/
Starring: Samuel L. Jackson …. Nelville Flynn; Julianna Margulies …. Claire Miller; Nathan Phillips …. Sean Jones; Rachel Blanchard …. Mercedes; Flex Alexander …. Three G’s; Kenan Thompson …. Troy; and many more.
A humorous and edge of your seat - flick about a surfer kid who witnesses a mafia murder; and in aims of having him witness against the killing, he’s sent back to L.A. to testify. Little does he know who he’s up against, as he takes over first class, and is a target for a mass terrorist killing - as the gangster sets loose every possible poisonous snake known to take over the plane. Its a race of survival as the passengers are killed off, some in horrifying manners, others in edge-of-your-seat humorous positions. In the age of plane terrorism, its a classic and couldn’t have had any better timing to come out. Rating: 4 stars out of 5. Viewed 8/20/06.

RV (PG, 2006)

August 21, 2006

RV (2006: Rated PG)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449089/
Starring: Robin Williams …. Bob Munro; Cheryl Hines …. Jamie Munro; Joanna ‘JoJo’ Levesque …. Cassie Munro; Josh Hutcherson …. Carl Munro; Jeff Daniels …. Travis Gornicke; Kristin Chenoweth …. Marie Jo Gornicke; and many more.
Another Robin Williams comedy classic - as Robin William plays a family man who has to balance time with the kids and wife while keeping together his sales-agency job for a softdrink that fattens the youth. In lieu of cancelling their family trip to Hawaii, they set sail on the high roads with a rental-RV that’s laughable in many ways. As he learns the skills of RV-mastering, its a clamity in action. Embraced in a race with escaping other RV-families it becomes a crazy family heart-felt story. Rating: 3 stars out of 5. Viewed 8/20/06.

Final Destination 3 (2006: R)

August 21, 2006

Final Destination: Part III (2006: Rated R)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0414982/
Starring: Mary Elizabeth Winstead …. Wendy Christensen; Ryan Merriman …. Kevin Fischer; Kris Lemche …. Ian McKinley; Alexz Johnson …. Erin Ulmer; Sam Easton …. Frankie Cheeks; Jesse Moss …. Jason Robert Wise; and many others.
Not as good as the first, but certainly better than the 2nd, the “Running from Death” tale takes on a new story. As Wendy gets premonitions about her classmates losing their lives on a rollercoaster, her freak-out on the coaster, saves the lives of several of her friends - as they supposedly ‘cheat death’. Its a race against time, as is so classic in the other two films, as they go through the scenarios to try to save their friends from death catching up to them. Will they win or lose. Gotta watch the movie to find out. Now out on DVD with the special feature of chosing the order of death of the classmates. Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5. Viewed 8/20/06.

A cute high school comedy about 4 girls taking vengeance out on the high school yuppy glamour boy … who has been playing them all. Time for the tides to turn back to him. Its also an inquisitive romance between the school’s invisible girl who all of a sudden becomes popular and while using the ‘vengeance’ scheme to gain popularity, also finds herself as a rock in a hard place when she realizes she likes the little brother of the jock. Entertaining and cute. Rating: 3 stars out of 5.
