X-Men 3: The Last Stand Cuts Down The Competition

X3 did even better than expected for the Memorial Day weekend, coming in at $107 million for the three day weekend. This lands it at the #1 spot for highest gross ever amounted for holiday and fourth in for the amount grossed in 3 days overall.

The expectation was high especially from the action packed previews that have been showing online and off for months now. The powers that be have declared that this is the third and final installment in the X-Men series but have said that their could be spinoffs such as Storm or Wolverine.
