Summer Movie Blockbusters 2006

April 9, 2006

Every year we have a whole new list of blockbuster movies to go see or avoid at all costs. Here is a list of some of those movies for 2006. Can you tell which will be a flop and which will strike it big?

I will be going to see MI:3, even though Tom Cruise has proven multiple times last year that he’s completely insane. I would also like to see X-Men and Pirates since I saw the previous films and enjoyed them.

Poseidon I’m a little iffy on whether or not I would like to see it. I saw the original which came out in the 70’s or was it the 80’s? I can’t remember these things. I do recall watching that movie repeatedly through-out the 90’s and I loved it and still do. My problem with remakes especially in this technology age is the fact that the studios and directors and whoever decides that they can do so much better because they can do things they couldn’t 10 or 20 years before.

This leads to a crappy storyline and sometimes no plot at all, just so they can throw more CGI and special effects at us. Hey Hollywood we know what can be done with computers. How about showing the new generation a movie that they want to go see and not just because of an action sequence you showed in the previews. Action sequences that usually turn out to be the only action worth seeing.
