Eternal Sunshine vs. Vanilla Sky

Neat title, eh?

I saw both Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Vanilla Sky recently.

They were similar, surprisingly. Both use convoluted dream sequences and a lot of temporal craziness to disorient the viewer.

Still, they had their differences:

Which is easier to follow?
By the end of Eternal, I basically understood everything that went on. I can’t say the same about Vanilla.
Winner: ESotSM

Which had the bigger stars?
Depends on if you like beautiful people or quirky people. Vanilla featured Cruise, Cruz and Diaz; Eternal had Carrey, Winslet, and Dunst.
Winner: Tie (…though I do tend to favor quirkiness)

Which had the better soundtrack?
With REM, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley and Sigur Ros, Vanilla beats Eternal hands-down.
Winner: VS

Which would I see again?
Eternal Sunshine, definitely. Vanilla, only if I had nothing better to do.
