The Exorcism of Emily Rose

In an extremely rare decision, the Catholic Church officially recognized the demonic possession of a 19 year-old college freshman. Told in flashbacks, ‘The Exorcism of Emily Rose’ chronicles the haunting trial of the priest accused of negligence resulting in the death of the young girl believed to be possessed and the lawyer who takes on the task of defending him.
This film is incredibly scary and sad at the same time. Emily’s possession begins one night alone in her dorm room, and it is one of the scariest, most nerve-racking scenes I’ve ever seen. There are several more scary scenes through out the movie that are absolutely horrifying it pushes the boundaries of the pg-13 rating it got I feel it is closer to the R rating the courtroom drama is tense and sad, and you never know what the result will be.
This is one of the best and most original films I have seen in awhile filled with heart and terrifying horrors, I just wrote an article a few weeks ago saying I hadn’t seen a good horror flick in forever but then Skeleton Key came out and now Emily Rose so I need to revise my article. This isn’t the typical slasher type movie so if your expecting that then watch something else but if you want to see and experience true horror then go see The Exorcism of Emily Rose
